The Bell Collection Museum was created as a result of a long international Bell Festival held in the municipality of Matulji, an area rich in the tradition of carnival customs, whose originality is still preserved. This is also the end with certainly the largest number of traditional bell groups.

The Iskra Bell Museum Project - The Bell Museum Collection includes the bell equipment of all these groups from the area of Matulji municipality, of which there are nine (Rukavački, Zvonejski, Brgujski, Munski, Žejanski, Mučićevi, Vlahov Breg-Korensko, Brežanski, Frlanski zvonari), and each of they have their own peculiarities in terms of equipment and ritual appearance.

The collection includes material related to the whole County of Primorje-Gorski kotar (annual carnival customs from the Kastav area are protected as intangible cultural heritage), and the plan is to collect bell masks from other parts of Croatia and other countries where a similar tradition is preserved.
