The fountain was erected in 1974 in Kobler Square, in the past Piazza dell 'Erbe, the center of the city's commercial and political life within the city walls. The fountain consists of two large millstones, each weighing 5 tons. They are housed in a cast iron shell 25 inches deep and 270 inches in diameter. The shell has 16 drainage channels through which water is poured into the lower large basin. According to the author's ideas, the waterfalls represent a historical symbol of the City taken from the Rijeka coat of arms - an amphora from which the "indeficienter" water flows. The pool is round in shape with a perimeter resting place, made of sanded Brac stone. The entire height of the fountain is 370 centimeters. 1.5 KW pumps ensure normal circulation of water from the lower basin through six nozzles placed between the millstones and free fall of water into the cast iron shell and back into the lower basin.
