The Kaštela City Museum is also the city museum which was founded by Kaštela, today's Kaštela city. The first museum and gallery institution in Kaštela area was founded in 1988. In 1992, the gallery got a new status and became the Native Museum of Kaštela. Four collections were established: the Archaeological Collection, the Cultural Historical Collection, the Ethnographic Collection and the Collection of Modern Art. The Studin Gallery is part of the Modern Collection. The museum was originally located in the former nucleus of Kaštel Novi in the Cippico tower. In1999 the museum was transformed into a museum in the town of Kaštela and moved to a new space. The new location of the museum since then was Vitturi castle in Kaštel Lukšić.
