Archaeological Museum in Split is the oldest museum institution in Croatia and southeastern Europe, was founded in 1820. The museum has about 150,000 archaeological objects in eleven collections (prehistoric, Greek-Hellenistic, Roman provincial, late antique, medieval, epigraphic, numismatic, collection of underwater archeology, art collection and items of decorative arts, a collection of modern age monuments, and a collection of monuments of modern times ) to be carried out and pedagogical jobs.

In addition to the museum building in Split, the Museum has a branch building in Solin (Tusculum) on Manastirine and regional archaeological collection Issa in Our Lady Batarija, Vis, and at both sites, in salons and Issa, carried out regular archaeological research.

FREE ADMISSION: members of the CAA, CMS, ICOM, ICOMOS (on presentation of membership card). Pensioners are Mondays free admission.
