The most famous beach on the Adriatic coast of Croatia is Zlatni rat beach. It is located in Bol, on the island of Brac. Bol is located on the southside of the island, 40km from Supetar where one can take a ferry to Split. Zlatni rat is a unique beach, cape around 1,000 meters long, made of very small pebbles chopped and shaped by the sea currents. The beach is a tourist attraction surrounded by all sorts of tourist facilities. There is a hotel accomodation nearby, and a little further away, there are also private houses and apartments for rent. The interior of the beach is a pine forest providing a natural shade. At the entrance to the beach there is a large parking lot where one can only pay for a day ticket. From the center of Bol to the beach, there are walking trails through a pine forest, and the walk takes 15-20 minutes. There is also a tourist train that takes a roundabout way to the beach. Although there are other beaches in Bol, the majority of visitors prefer Zlatni rat beach, or the beaches of the nearby village of Murvica. Zlatni rat is a famous place for windsurfing, but one can also do other water sports here. The beach has absolutely all the facilities: restaurants, bars, water sports, rentals of a variety of equipment, kiosks, deck chairs, parasols, etc. One part of the beach is reserved for nudists. Prices on the beach are about 30% higher than elsewhere, but special places all over the world usually have higher prices.
