For four decades, chirch of saint Luca in Rukavac stood as a ruin. It was restored in the 1980s by the efforts of Josip Šimac, and according to the project of architect Anton Juretic.

In the sacristy of the church there is a Glagolitic plaque with the inscription 1600. May 2. It was used as a staircase in front of the church in the middle of the 19th century, and then it was built on the church front.

The plaque was originally on the door of a grain warehouse, granary, which was built in Rukavac in 1600.

Marble main altar with statue of st.Luca was erected in 1910 with cash contributions from the residents of the hamlet of Kucelli - Ivan Kucel and Joseph and Mate Susanj - who acquired the property in search of gold in America.
