Petka is the name for a series of two hills and a protected park forest above the Dubrovnik city area and the Lapad peninsula. Velika (197 m) and Mala Petka (146 m), by their extension, follow the characteristic dinaric direction of the mainland (northwest - southeast). The geological base is basically composed of Cretaceous sediments, limestones and dolomites in several places. The dominant motif of the park - forests are dense assemblages of conifers, primarily Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis), and only in a few places do we find cypress (ordinary or Mediterranean cypress - Cupressus sempervirens). Birds prevail when it comes to the animal world.
