In the year 1710 the Capuchin friars began the construction of the monastery and the church dedicated to St. Joseph in Karlobag. The work was completed in 1713. The style of the monastery is the classic one with the central cloister, as in other cities of Croatia: Varaždin and Osijek. Despite its simplicity, the convent expresses an elegant and light architecture. The well located in the central position of the cloister is very beautiful. Inside the Convent numerous treasures are preserved: paintings, ancient texts, objects of sacred art, most of which come from the Church of San Carlo Borromeo, unfortunately destroyed. Worth noting is a valuable Last Supper by an unknown author dating back to around 1700. Adjacent to the convent is the only Catholic Church in Karlobag dedicated to St. Joseph. Holy Mass time: Sunday 10:00 am Recommended visit.
