Tamaris Restaurant is located right on the quay in the centre of Vis, within the Tamaris Hotel, offering views of almost the entire Vis Bay from its tables. In addition to whole fish, there are also other seafood dishes available, allowing for a seafood meal without needing to order a large fish for the entire table.

Terrace Right by Vis Bay

The location is one of Tamaris's greatest advantages.

The restaurant is situated on St. George's Quay, practically in the front row facing the sea. In front are the town berths and yachts, with views across the bay towards Prirovo and Kuta.

This means there is no sense of being in a closed restaurant. Even during a regular lunch, you can constantly see the movement of boats, the arrival of new yachts, and the daily life on the Vis quay.

In the evening, the atmosphere is livelier, but the location remains sufficiently distanced from the ferry terminal so that you are not seated directly next to the loading and unloading of vehicles.

A Good Choice for Boaters

Tamaris is particularly convenient for guests arriving in Vis by boat.

The town berths are located directly in front of this part of the quay, so it takes just a few moments to walk from the boat to the restaurant. There is no need for a taxi or a long walk through the town.

This is also useful for later arrivals in Vis, when you want to stay in the centre for dinner without additional transport planning.

Caffe Bar Tamaris is a Separate Entity

Alongside the restaurant, the Tamaris Hotel also features Caffe Bar Tamaris, so these two establishments should not be completely conflated.

The Caffe Bar is more focused on morning coffee, drinks, local wines, craft beers, and cocktails by the quay, while the restaurant is the place for a proper meal and à la carte offerings.

Location in the Centre of Vis

Tamaris is practically in the heart of the town.

The ferry terminal is just a few minutes' walk along the flat quay, and shops, bakeries, cafés, and other town amenities are in close proximity.

On the other side of the town, you can continue along the promenade over Prirovo towards Kuta, making the restaurant well-placed as either the start or end of an evening stroll through Vis.

Parking

The restaurant does not have a large private parking area directly by the terrace.

It is located on the town quay, where traffic and parking are limited during the summer, so it is best to leave your car in one of the public parking areas in the wider centre and walk the last part.

For guests staying in Vis and boaters, a car is not necessary at all.

Reservations

During July and August, making a reservation is advisable for evening visits, especially if you want a table on the terrace closer to the sea or if you are coming with a larger group.

Outside of the busiest times, it is easier to find a table without prior arrangements, but the central location and proximity to the town berths mean that the restaurant fills up quickly in the evening.
