This church is one of the typical coastal churches. It is mostly built of stone and covered with stone slabs, but we do not known exactly when it was built, nor for most of the smaller churches on the island of Vis.At the top of the church is a small bell tower above the entrance, which is still operational today. The only thing known about the church is that in the second half of the 17th century its sidewalk was torn down, so it is assumed that it was built in the 16th century.St. Blaž is the protector of the throat, so on his day the traditional blessing of the throat is performed, and it is the only day of the year when this church serves mass, and on other days the church is generally closed.
