Throughout its long history, the church has been repeatedly renovated and remodeled, as is evident from the architecture and construction styles. In Baroque it was extended and expanded, equipped with stucco and the coat of arms of the family of Marco Bellafuse, a large crucifix and an altar. The most precious and sacred of this church is the ancient painting of Our Lady with the Child, tempera on wood, the work of the famous Venetian painter Paolo Veneziano from 1350. In the parish courtyard is a well with the coat of arms of the city canonist Matthew Sturari, who in the 15th century repaired and expanded the church. In the church is his tombstone with the relief figure of the deceased. The church has two altars in addition to the sacristy. The main altar was built in Baroque style in 1742 by Prov. G. Quirini, who erected a home for the priests in addition to the church. The new parish church was consecrated in 1998 by Archbishop Ivan Prenđa. The church has only a stone altar and a wooden statue of the Assumption BDM. Below the church are catechetical halls.
