The exhibition includes sacred art and objects of art crafts from the Benedictine church and monastery, the treasury of Zadar Cathedral, the church of St. Šimun, parish churches in the area of the Archdiocese of Zadar, and several statues and paintings owned by the National Museum in Zadar.
It is significant that numerous exhibited works were created according to orders of the church dignitaries, members of Zadar nobility and citizenship, as well as town and village fraternities, familiar with contemporary art flows and devoted to the provision of sacred spaces with valuable artworks. The permanent exhibit of church art (SICU) is a precious symbol of Zadar's cultural heritage and a testimony of the rich artistic heritage of the city of Zadar and the Zadar Archdiocese from the Middle Ages to the end of the 18th century. By the number and art value of the exhibits, especially the works of Zadar goldsmiths, the permanent exhibition of ecclesiastical art is the most significant inventory of sacred art and objects of art crafts.
