Pasarela Restaurant in Rogač – Dinner by the Sea on the Quieter Side of the Bay
Pasarela Restaurant is situated on the western side of Rogač Bay, along the road leading to Banje Beach. It is not immediately next to the ferry terminal, but it is close enough to reach it with a short walk from the port. The terrace is positioned just above the sea, on several stone levels, allowing diners to sit almost at the water's edge, with views of boats and ferries across the bay.
Pasarela is one of the places in Rogač to visit for a quieter lunch or dinner by the sea, without the feeling of being in a busy port. The terrace is pleasant during the day, but it is most beautiful to visit in the evening when the sun sets and the entire bay gradually calms down. Tables at the edge of the terrace are in high demand during this time, so it is advisable to make a reservation in advance during July and August.
The menu focuses on Dalmatian and Mediterranean cuisine. The most commonly ordered dishes include fish, squid, octopus, shrimp, shellfish, risottos, and pasta with seafood. The selection of fresh fish depends on the daily catch, so it is best to ask what is available that day. When ordering whole fish, it is advisable to check the weight and total price before preparation, especially when ordering for two or more people.
Pasarela is not a restaurant exclusively for seafood lovers. There are also meat dishes, steaks, grilled items, and classic sides, making it easy to organize a dinner for a group where not everyone eats seafood. Dishes prepared under peka should be arranged in advance as they are not made quickly and may not always be available without prior notice.
The food is closest to traditional Dalmatian cuisine – without overly complex combinations and a strong emphasis on presentation. The primary reason to visit is for the fresh ingredients, fish, and seaside dining experience. Portions are suitable for a full lunch or dinner, while lighter meals can be chosen from appetizers, salads, pasta, or risotto.
The restaurant is accessible by car via an asphalt road that follows the western side of the bay. The road is passable for regular passenger vehicles, but it is narrower in some sections, especially where cars are parked along the edge. There is a limited number of parking spaces next to the restaurant. During the peak season, these can fill up quickly, so sometimes vehicles are left further down the road, and the last part is completed on foot. Care should be taken not to block access to surrounding houses.
From the ferry port to Pasarela, it takes approximately ten minutes on foot. Although the restaurant is visible across the bay, it is necessary to navigate around its inner part. The path is not demanding, but it is advisable to allow enough time if visiting Šolta for only a few hours or if catching a specific ferry after dinner.
In front of the restaurant, there is a small dock, making Pasarela appealing to guests arriving by boat. There are not many spots available, and one should not assume that a berth will always be free. During the summer, it is best to arrange arrival in advance, especially if wanting to reserve both a table and a boat spot simultaneously.
Banje Beach is located a bit further along the same side of the bay, so a lunch at Pasarela can easily be combined with swimming. The restaurant is not a beach bar and does not have its own large beach, but the sea is right below the terrace, giving the entire area a true coastal atmosphere.
Pasarela is a good choice for guests looking for a quality meal by the sea but who do not want to sit in the busiest part of Rogač. It is particularly suitable for dinners, family lunches, and arrivals by boat, while those arriving by car should consider the limited parking. For a table by the sea, peka, or larger groups, it is best to make a reservation in advance.
