Konoba Lado in Pučišća | A Small Tavern in the Old Part of Town

Konoba Lado is situated in the old part of Pučišća, just a few minutes' walk from the waterfront and the main square. The restaurant is housed in a stone building within the narrow streets of the old town, giving the area a much quieter feel compared to establishments by the sea and the main promenade. Access to the tavern is on foot through the town centre, while cars are typically parked in public car parks along the waterfront or on the road above the centre.

The space is small and simply decorated, resembling more of a family-run Dalmatian tavern than a typical tourist restaurant. Most tables are located on the terrace among the stone houses, while the interior remains smaller and more tranquil. In the evenings, the atmosphere is quite serene, as there is little noise from the waterfront or foot traffic typical of seaside locations.

The menu is based on traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Offerings include fresh fish, squid, octopus, black risotto, grilled meats, steak, and homemade pasta. They also serve cold starters such as prosciutto, cheese, olives, and fish pâtés, with peka available upon prior request. The food is prepared simply, without modern presentations or an excessive number of ingredients on the plate.

Portion sizes are generally adequate, and the kitchen operates at a slower pace, meaning that dining here tends to take longer than in larger restaurants by the waterfront. The restaurant has a limited number of tables, which contributes to a more personal service, although there can be waits during peak season when the terrace is full.

For drinks, they offer local wines, homemade brandies, beer, and a basic selection of soft drinks. The wine list primarily features Dalmatian labels that pair well with the fish and meat dishes.

Konoba Lado is more suited to those seeking a quieter dining experience in the stone streets of Pučišća rather than a meal right by the waterfront. Due to the smaller space and limited number of tables, making a reservation during July and August is advisable, especially for evening slots.
